Scope of Application:

Fire-resistant glass is a type of special glass with multiple functions including fire resistance, heat insulation and light transmission. Its core function is to block the spread of flames and high-temperature flue gas through its own structural characteristics or chemical reactions when a fire occurs, and maintain integrity and heat insulation within a specified time. This buys critical time for personnel evacuation, property protection and fire rescue. It not only retains the light transmission of ordinary glass, but also makes up for its defects of flammability and poor heat resistance. It is widely used in building fire compartments, fire exits, curtain walls, doors and windows and other scenarios.

Main Performances:

1. Integrity: During a fire, the glass does not break or fall off, and can continuously block the penetration of flames and flue gas (even if cracks appear, no through openings will form).

2. Impact Resistance: Its flexural strength is 3-5 times that of ordinary borosilicate glass. If it breaks due to extreme impact, it will form "small granular fragments" similar to tempered glass, with no sharp edges and corners, which can avoid personal scratches and meet both fire protection and safety protection needs.

3. Excellent Properties of Borosilicate 4.0: It has no NiS crystallization, eliminating the risk of spontaneous explosion; its ultra-high softening point of 851℃ ensures fire resistance stability; its extremely high light transmittance of 90% and low-iron formula ensure true color presentation; its density of 2.28g/cm³ (25°C) enables low self-weight and compact size; and it has good corrosion resistance and stability against ultraviolet rays.

4. UV Resistance and Aging Resistance: Borosilicate glass has strong chemical stability. It will not turn yellow or have reduced light transmittance due to UV radiation when exposed to sunlight for a long time (the grouting layer of some composite fire-resistant glass may age and discolor after long-term use). Its service life can reach more than 20 years, with low maintenance costs.

5. Fire Resistance Rating: According to different performances, the fire resistance rating is divided into grades of 0.5h (30 minutes), 1.0h, 1.5h, 2.0h, etc., which should be selected according to the building fire protection design requirements.

Single-pane Fire-Resistant Glass: Single-pane non-heat-insulating type, which blocks fire but not heat.

Composite Fire-Resistant Glass (Grouted Type, Wired/Mesh-Embedded Type): Blocks both fire and heat.
