Date:2023-08-17

Fire-resistant glass doors and Windows are becoming increasingly popular in the market. People have always been concerned about how to install fire-resistant glass doors and Windows correctly. The quality and performance of the visual effect after installation are related to the glass itself. Of course, installation techniques and detail handling are also important factors affecting its performance. So, how should we install them correctly?

Before installation, check each piece of fire-resistant glass: whether the dimensions are accurate, the integrity of the edges and corners, scratches, wear, and whether the quantity complies with the contract agreement. During the inspection process, do not remove the glass supplier's label at will without instructions. Follow the fire-resistant glass installation instructions and drawings.

2. Check for any residue or protruding hard objects on the window frame. If necessary, remove them.

3. Gaskets are installed on the window frames to provide waterproofing, airproofing and edge sealing protection at corners and connection points. Materials such as rubber and wood blocks can be used as gasket materials. Then, they are cut to the required size and quantity, and the standard width and thickness of the cut gaskets are placed on the window frames.

4. Before installation, it is necessary to check whether the edge banding adhesive is intact. Before leaving the factory, edge banding adhesive was used for protection to prevent the components in the glass adhesive from eroding the interior of the glass. If some of the edge banding adhesive falls off, it needs to be reapplied before installation.

5. When fire-resistant glass is officially installed, it must be done vertically and the protective film must not be removed.

6. After the fire-resistant glass is fixed, the outer frame can be installed. Please note that the outer frame must not touch the glass. Welding sparks must not burn the glass. Touching the glass with sand, dust or other hard objects will cause irreparable damage.

After installation is completed, it needs to be fixed with non-acidic glass glue.

Precautions for daily use after installation: Keep the usage site dry; If the glass surface is stained with oil, it is recommended to wipe it with a damp towel or a special glass cleaner. Do not use acidic cleaners. When fire-resistant glass shows signs of cracking or scratches, it indicates that its performance has been compromised and it should be replaced promptly.
